Home-Made Maple Pecan Granola
So happy it's the weekend! Ah, so amazing! I get time with my nephews this weekend and I have an awesome meal prep planned as well! So I'm kind of looking forward to that as well! Do we have any snackers?! Salty or sweet? Ariel is forever a sweet tooth kind of gal & I love me some oaty granola! I must admit, I go through stretches where I go through a bag in a couple of weeks and then I don't pick up any more for awhile. I love the taste, but some brands really pack on the added sugar, so I ventured out to find something that's delicious, but isn't ladened with sugar. Looking up a few different recipes, I decided to make up my own last year and have finally perfected it, after about 6 batches (LOL). So I wanted to share it with you all! It's amazing on creamy yogurt, your pancake or waffle stack, steamy oats, or sprinkled on fresh fruit! I even enjoy a small handful if I'm looking for crunch! It's made with basic ingredients you probably have in your kitchen already!
3 cups Quaker Oats
1/3 cup pecans
1 Tbsp sesame seeds (I used white)
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 Tbsp Cinnamon
1/3 tsp nutmeg
1/2 c + 2 Tbsp Pure Maple Syrup
3 Tbsp brown sugar
1/3 c honey
How to:
-Preheat oven to 300 & line a baking sheet with parchment paper (easy clean up!)
-Mix all ingredients until coated completely.
-Spread evenly onto pan & bake until golden (25-30 mins) Turning once half way through.
*Be prepared for the amazing smell that will be coming from the kitchen!*
Remove from oven to cool completely, break into pieces or bite sized chunks. I store mine in a closed glass Mason jar for up to 2 weeks, that's if it lasts that long! After cooled you can add in dried cranberries, golden raisins, or even coconut!! I mix up the spices, fall time I hit up that pumpkin pie spice and even add a tbsp of pure pumpkin to the mix!
Hope you all enjoy this recipe, it's a favorite of mine and it's so simple!
