Homemade Cold Brew

Okay, we all love sipping' that cold brew during those hot summer months. But if you're like me, I don't have $5 to drop on the daily on some delicious cold brew, so I was surprised as to how easy it is to fashion my own AT HOME! This recipe is beyond simple & yep.... SMOOTH!

You will need whole bean coffee, a pitcher or glass storage jar(s), cheesecloth, fine metal mesh strainer, and a rubber band.

Ingreidents:

8 oz whole coffee beans
8 cups water (filtered- 2 qt.)

Instructions:

- Depending on size and capacity of grinder you may need to grind beans in batches. You want grind to be course, so into a grind that resembles raw sugar.
- Next, combine freshly ground coffee and water in pitcher or jar. Stir till coffee is completely saturated and then place in refrigerate overnight (18-24 hours).
- Gather jars or pitcher where you will store coffee and place lined (with cheesecloth) mesh strainer over to catch concentrate to be filtered. Discard grounds as strainer/cheesecloth get built.
- Do not squeeze remaining liquid from cheesecloth once finished, sllow gravity to best strain and then discard completely.
- Transfer cold brew into refrigerator for long term storage (up to 2 weeks for the pure concentrate.)
- For my recipe, I added 1/4 cup milk along with eye cubes and poured over the cold brew.

There are so many recipes or ways to use this concentrate, whether in smoothies, frozen pops, ice cream, pudding, or even in baked goods. I would love to see how creative you all got with this basic recipe! I've been happily sipping all week!
